This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application “CareCheck” (the “App”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App.
Information We Collect
The App collects limited information necessary to provide its core functionality.
Information you provide:
- Name entered during setup
- Phone number of the emergency contact selected by the user
Automatically generated information:
- Firebase user identifier (UID)
- Basic device and technical information required for application functionality
The App does not collect sensitive personal data such as emails, messages, photos, or financial information.
How We Use Information
The collected information is used exclusively to provide the functionality of the App, which allows users to periodically confirm their status and notify a selected emergency contact if no activity is detected.
Information may be used to:
- display the user's name within the App
- store the emergency contact phone number selected by the user
- send an SMS notification to the selected emergency contact if the user does not check in within a defined period
- operate and maintain the application infrastructure
Contacts Access
The App may request access to the device's contact list solely to allow the user to select an emergency contact. The App does not store the entire contact list. Only the phone number of the selected emergency contact is stored.
Location Information
The App may access location data (GPS) only to detect whether the device has moved as part of activity verification. Location data is used only as an activity signal and is not stored as a location history.
Analytics
The App uses Amplitude for product analytics to understand how users interact with the application. Analytics data may include:
- application usage events
- feature interactions
- device and technical information
No personal data such as names or contact numbers are sent to Amplitude.
Push Notifications
The App may send push notifications to remind users to confirm their status or to provide service-related updates.
SMS Notifications
The App uses Twilio to send SMS notifications to the emergency contact selected by the user when no activity is detected within the configured time period.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service providers:
- Firebase – backend infrastructure and secure data storage
- Twilio – SMS delivery service
- Amplitude – product analytics
These providers may process limited technical data necessary to deliver their services.
In-App Purchases
The App may offer optional subscriptions or donations through in-app purchases managed by the respective application stores (Google Play or Apple App Store). Payment transactions are processed by the app stores and the App does not collect or store payment card information.
Data Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect the information stored by the App from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Data Retention
User data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service or until the user requests deletion.
User Rights and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their data at any time. Data can be deleted through the application or by contacting support.

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
